3. Advertising and Google services
The Site is funded by advertising. We use Google products, which may include Google Analytics 4, Google Ads and Google AdSense, together with Google Tag Manager.
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this Site or other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this Site and/or other sites on the Internet.
- You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.
- You may opt out of third-party vendor cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info and Your Online Choices.
- Google's own handling of data is described in the Google Privacy & Terms.
We implement Google Consent Mode v2. Until you grant consent, advertising and analytics storage are set to denied, no advertising identifiers are written, and only aggregated, cookieless signals may be sent.
4. Who we share data with
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with processors and partners that help us operate the Site:
- Google LLC / Google Ireland Ltd — analytics and advertising.
- Hosting and CDN provider — delivery of the Site and server logs.
- Email service provider — newsletter delivery, if you subscribe.
- Authorities — only where legally required, or to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
5. International transfers
Some providers process data outside the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom, principally in the United States. Where that happens we rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, the UK International Data Transfer Addendum, or the EU–US Data Privacy Framework where the recipient is certified.

7.1 California residents (CCPA/CPRA)
California residents have the right to know what personal information is collected, to delete it, to correct it, and to opt out of its "sale" or "sharing" for cross-context behavioural advertising. We do not sell personal information for money. Use of advertising cookies may nevertheless constitute "sharing" under the CPRA; you can opt out by selecting Reject non-essential in our cookie banner, reachable at any time via Cookie settings. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any right.
7.2 EEA and UK residents
You may lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. In Ireland this is the Data Protection Commission; in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office.
8. Children's privacy
The Site is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it promptly.
9. Security
The Site is served exclusively over HTTPS. We apply access controls, keep software patched, and minimise the personal data we hold. No method of transmission over the Internet is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
We honour the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal where your browser sends one, treating it as an opt-out of the sale and sharing of personal information. There is no industry consensus on the older Do Not Track header, so we do not respond to it separately.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes in law or in how the Site operates. Material changes are announced on this page with a new "last updated" date, and where required we will ask for your consent again.
